after a long time

Writing a post after a long long time. There is nothing much happened in my life in last 2-3 months. This post is not to tell that something new has happened, but just about a movie that I watched today with a batch mate.

So what will be the title of a movie if the lead actress is Cameron Diaz and four five guys are after her, one as a disabled person, one as a blind, another with a false identity, and one old college friend. Then there is a whole drama with a lot of comedy involved with a fully fractured pomeranian dog. yes, that's right. Title will be "There is Something About Mary". And what will you call it if this film is remade in hindi. Vikram Bhatt chose to call it "Deewane Hue Pagal". I didn't know that this is a remade from Hollywood. but as soon as I saw Sunil Shetty in a role of disabled man I had a sense of deja vu. Art of copying has been mastered so much that even the braces of hero has been retained during college days. But of course hair gel was missing to give it a indian look ;-) or rather not to give it an american look.

This copy would have been better without songs. Paresh rawal, jonny lever, akshay kumar, vijay raaz (Dubey jee of Monsoon Wedding) and Sunil Shetty have a good timing and sense of comedy. The main difference between the original and copy is the performance of the heroin. In the original, Cameron Diaz gave a superb performance and was actually the binding force of the movie. But in our bollywood remake heroin (played by the Rimmi Sen) is the last to be remembered after the movie. There was no acting at all by her and hero (Shahid Kapoor). Movie would have been terrible without the comedy combo of "Awara Pagal Deewana" + Vijay Raaz.

Overall my rating of the movie is a C-grade movie.

Now before you judge the movie based on my rating let me tell you my rating system. I have 3 ratings for the movies. T, C and A. T is theatreable - you can enjoy the film in theatre. It's worth to pay for it. C is computerable - dont go to theatre. just bring a CD and watch at home, with regular forwarding during songs etc. and A grade movie is Avoidable. Avoid it at any cost.

So if you get a chance to watch it on CD its okay, give it a try. No need to waste money or time.
